Youth Basketball Practice Plan Template: Organize Every Minute
A one-page basketball practice planner for coaches who want clear timing, teaching points and a record of what needs work next.
A good practice plan does not need to be complicated. It needs to answer three things: what are we teaching, how much time are we giving it, and what should players leave practice better at?
Build practice around an emphasis Choose one primary emphasis before filling the schedule. Then organize warm-up, skill work, team concepts, competition and situations around that goal instead of stacking random drills.
Protect teaching time Putting a time beside each segment helps prevent one drill from eating the whole practice. Leave room for correction, water and transitions.
Record what comes next A short post-practice note makes tomorrow's plan better: what improved, what still needs work and any player or lineup note you do not want to forget.
